Yahoo! Search is hosting a developer launch party for SearchMonkey, our new developer platform this Thursday, May 15th from 5:30 to 8:30pm at Yahoo! Headquarters in Sunnyvale.

You'll have a chance to meet with the developers behind it, see live demos, enjoy free food and drinks (alcohol for the big kids only), and land some schwag if you're into that kind of thing.

To get on the guest list, register at upcoming.org and send your full name and company (if you have one) to searchmonkeyevent@yahoo-inc.com. Security will only allow registered guests through, and space is limited.

Recently, my coworker Ryan and I discovered something interesting about Yahoo! IT requests: poetry gets results.

Last year I left sunny California to pursue a job in the rainy Pacific Northwest. The company was young, private and had a ton of potential. I was ready for something new. The timing was just right, and it was a great adventure.

Last month I left the rainy Pacific Northwest to pursue a job in sunny California. The company is mature, public and has a proven track record of success. I was ready for something new, and also something familiar. The timing was just right, and it will be an even greater adventure.
